Sometimes I envy snakes....and trees. Really. A snake will shed its skin as long as it's growing, and snakes grow all through their lives. Trees reflect the distinct seasons they live through - most of them, that is.
I grow and change. But sometimes my emotional "skin" doesn't reflect the inner growth. But I can choose to be (strangely) inspired by our slithering friends. I can be reminded to "rub off" old habits. I can choose to allow the "new sap" of fresh thoughts within to push off the dried and flaky.
