| A Section from "I'm the Queen"a commissioned "Dream Portrait" When I teach art to children, one of the first things I drill into their little heads is this: You are the queen (or king) of the paper in front of you. It is your kingdom, you may rule over it as you wish." When I start a new day, I often drill this into my own head: I am the queen of this day ( in the circumstances I will face.) It is my "kingdom". I ask myself how I will "rule" over it? Will I be benevolent, gracious and creative or stingy, intolerant and irritable. |
